ACFC discharges liquid from their facility every day, but does not meet the discharge standards. Hanze students will perform test and research ways to make sure the water can be released without polluting the river.

In the seed extraction process Rijk Zwaan has a problem with separating the slimy core of the cucumber from the water they use for washing the seeds. Life, Science and Technology students are looking into ways to approach this challenge.

East West Seed is looking at ways to outreach more farmers and share to them knowledge on sustainable vegetable production with the help of an sms system.

Kareem Mwinyi is a Master International Communication Student at Hanze University. Through the East Africa Hub, he was involved in creating a strategy to transfer knowledge regarding best potato farming practices to Tanzian farmers.
